Turn Around
A bit over two weeks ago my life started to get stressful. And that is an understatement.
It began when one of my students was killed in a tragic accident. No teacher is ready to deal with losing a student, helping other students deal with the loss of a friend. It was horrible: horribly sad, horribly hard.
Amidst the grief of loss, we closed on our new house. And we moved. And Ken has spent countless hours making our old house absolutely perfect so that someone will want to buy it. Our old house, as I’ve written before, is beautiful (as you can see in the photos). Our new house is not. Yet.
And then, as if moving and grieving weren’t enough, my body decided to rebel. A cyst I’ve had since I was fifteen decided to turn into an abscess. In a not so convenient spot. Getting it lanced and drained was awful and painful.
My abscess is healing, we are slowly getting boxes unpacked and organized, things are slowly getting back to normal at school. I’m hoping this is the week that my luck turns around.
